A full week to find out if martial arts is for you

Most gyms give you one class and a sales pitch. We give you a week. That is enough time to try more than one class, meet the coaches, see how the room feels and decide whether this is where you want to train.

You do not need experience, fitness or equipment. Wear comfortable athletic clothes, bring water and arrive about 15 minutes early. A coach will greet you, show you around and get you on the mat with people at your level.

The offer is open to kids from age 3, teens and adults. Families can start together, and nobody is asked to commit to anything during the trial.

Who it is for

A free trial for every age and every level

Our free martial arts class in La Habra works for people who have never trained as well as for people coming back after a break. Parents often start with their kids, then decide to try a class themselves.

Kids from ages 3 to 13 train in age-grouped Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai classes, with coaches who keep things fun and structured. Teens train alongside adults in focused classes with close coaching. Adults can choose Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai or boxing, or try all three during the week.

If you are nervous, that is normal. Most of our students felt the same on day one. Coaches introduce you to the room, partners are patient and nobody expects you to know the terms. Read more on our mat etiquette page to see what to expect.

Before you come

What to wear and bring to your first class

Wear comfortable athletic clothing you can move in, such as shorts or leggings and a t-shirt. Shoes come off before you step on the mat, and we ask everyone to keep nails trimmed and hands clean. Bring a water bottle and a small towel if you like.

Arrive about 15 minutes early so a coach can welcome you, answer your questions and show you where everything is. You can park for free right in front of the gym, and locker rooms are available if you are coming straight from work or school.

If a health condition could affect how you train, talk with your doctor first, and let the coach know on arrival so they can adjust. Everything else is handled for you.
